Scale without losing your soul
Professional Background
• $500M+ in charitable giving • Over $10M annual recurring revenue • Operations scaled from scratch •
For more than 20 years, I’ve been in the business of building things: sales teams, growth strategies, operational systems, and impact. I’ve led organizations through major transitions, scaled startups into industry leaders, and created the kind of alignment that generates win-win-win-wins. (Give me allll the wins.)
I hold an MBA in Entrepreneurship & Marketing and a BA in Intercultural Studies with a minor in Psychology, both fueled by an insatiable curiosity about humans and how they tick. My academic background shapes my approach to leadership: equal parts strategic rigor and emotional intelligence.
As Chief Revenue Officer at the tech company Funraise, I built entire functions from the ground up, grew revenue to eight figure annual revenue, and helped nonprofits raise over half a billion dollars for their missions. Having joined the company when it was hardly more than an idea, the theoretical knowledge I had gained in business school was immediately refined in the fires of startup reality. I experienced tremendous growth as a leader, receiving 4 promotions over the course of 8 years.
Before that, I managed multimillion-dollar client portfolios at the London-based trend forecasting company WGSN and launched large-scale advocacy and fundraising campaigns with Invisible Children. Along the way, I’ve led teams of every size, navigated complexity, sharpened my keen aptitude for collaboration, and learned how to keep people and purpose at the center of growth.
Plumbline Story
• Finding (& re-finding) center •
After my first “real” job at a nonprofit startup, I was burned out. I had neglected my need for creative expression in pursuit of “world change” at a global level—and I was depleted.
My path back to myself, as it always is, was creative. I started reclaiming old furniture, re-interpreting each piece to give it new life. The result was Plumb+Fiddle: a name that embraced harmony between work (symbolized by the plumb) and play (symbolized by the fiddle).
Fifteen years, a graduate degree, a spouse, two kids, a mortgage, and a startup later…I found myself in familiar territory. Despite the worthiness of all the things I was pouring myself into, I was once again skimping on the creative play. It was time to approach my work a little differently—and thus, Plumbline was born.
Plumbline Brand
• True growth •
A plumb line is a tool used to establish proper alignment when building. By indicating the natural vertical, the plumb line helps ensure a structure’s framework is built “true”— properly positioned to be sturdy and purposeful without tilt, slope, or misalignment.
The pull of gravity on a plumb line is what makes it effective. By orienting itself to the center of gravity of Earth, it reveals the true vertical. It is this intrinsic relationship to the center that reveals where and how to build effectively.
As a brand, Plumbline is committed to both excellence and the deeply-rooted joy that arise from true alignment. Our work resonates with the kind of client who expects high quality and serious results while embracing the complexities inherent in pursuing big ambitions. We relentlessly seek groundedness with a strong dose of boldness, knowing both qualities are needed to generate the big results our clients are after. Because you deserve the confidence that you’ve found a partner who can dream big right alongside you—while also knowing how to turn your ambitions into tangible, high-impact realities.
